Animation Interns Receive Feature Film Credit

weddingFour of Mt. SAC's Animation Program students are receiving screen credits for their work on Gener8xion Entertainment's release of "One Night with the King" opening across the country on October 13th.

Students Randall Eide, Tony Bui, Ronan Relosa and Tim Salvage began work on the feature film in the summer of 2005 through an internship arranged by the Animation Program and Gener8xion Entertainment Studio in Hollywood. Animation professor Don Sciore, who was working as a storyboard artist during the initial story/design phase of the film, made the internship proposal to one of the film's producers. With all of the details worked out, the students were able to test their 3-D animation skills while gaining invaluable industry experience working under the supervision and guidance of seasoned special effects artists.

onwk2An epic motion picture set in an imaginative world of adventure, intrigue and romance, One Night With the King follows a young girl who rises from peasant to princess by going against the culture and seeking the King's heart rather than the riches of the kingdom. (www.8x.com)
The movie contains fantastic computer generated environments, architecture, props and people all seamlessly blended together with live action to create an extraordinary yet believable setting in which to tell the story of Queen Esther. Much of the work generated by the interns will appear in the film. Art and animation faculty member Stephen Bautista also worked on the film as a special effects concept artist. Stephen designed many of the virtual sets and sculptures that were then built in the computer by the special effects artists.

The Mt. SAC Animation Program is proud of the student interns for the dedication, hard work and professionalism they displayed during their collaboration with Gener8xion Entertainment. Congratulations guys!
